The admin, Daniele, put out a statement where the forum has reopened. He said he realized certain anxieties he had about what others think don't matter in the grand scheme of things and that he missed the forum.

I’m glad to see that the FAA-affiliated forum are still there for those who love this culture.
This comes hardly unexpected, because when they decided to shut down the forum last weekend, I thought that the decision to “reopen” wasn’t a matter of the administrators’ mindset, but rather a matter of timing. I hope everyone can rationally grasp the essence of the situation—there’s nothing to be sad about, as things don’t always go exactly as we wish. I believe the best way to resolve this issue is to eliminate uncertainties and do our very best.
On the FAA ProBoards mirror forum, the administrators explained the reasons for the temporary closure. When I visited the forum on Monday morning (China time), they had already reopened it once. The announcement posted by Daniele that day seemed somewhat anxious (I have archived a copy locally); the founder‘s personal state of mind has a disproportionate impact on the community. To prevent bots, inexperienced users, and other malicious users, FAA requires users to write a self-introduction during registration, which will be subject to manual review. Accounts that remain inactive, with no posts, will be automatically deleted after 90 days, as part of a broader reform.

After a lot of supportive messages, I decided to give the forum another shot, but with some fundamental changes that will hopefully prevent the kind of problems that gave me a burnout that caused me to nuke everything in the first place (baka mitai).

Pruned Members
From 1200 members we pruned it down to <400, the members that were deleted were either:
Inactive for very long periods
Posted only low-effort posts
Zeroposters
Posts have been preserved unless they were breaking rules.

Reduced number of forums
To reduce the load on moderators (moving posts, etc) and reducing confusion for users, some channels have been merged:

Aesthetics, Technology, Help Center, Tutorials were merged into > General Discussion
Forum Updates > Information
Forum Discussion has been renamed to Suggestions
Wallpapers > Customization

We might tweak this later or re-add some forums depending on the need.

Registration Requirements
To prevent bots, immature users, and other trolls, users now have to write an introduction upon registering, and accounts will be manually reviewed. Users who do not post at all after registering will be deleted automatically after 90 days.

Other updates:
- Rules have been moved to a dedicated page.
- Removed Herobrine.

I don’t know why Daniele decided to abandon these changes, but I sincerely hope his team and the Frutiger Aero community will continue to grow and flourish. Confucius said, “Virtue is never isolated; it always finds companions.”
